Master Building (New York, 1928)

The Master Building remains one of the most enigmatic buildings of Art Deco New York. In addition to an institute devoted to the arts, housed, houses, TETRAL forum, a library and a museum Tibetan with works from Russian teofísicos Nicholas Roerich. The latter the decor made the original scenery of the Rite of Spring Stravinsky represented at the Theatre des Champs Elysées in 1913, and it seems that the architect suggested Corbet multicolored brickwork ta go up gradually from the purple yellow base to the top, unfortunately this chromaticism disappeared rapidly due to pollution. Corbett conduct a similar building on Calle Ocho.

Chicago Tribune Building (Chicago, 1922)

Edificio del Chicago Tribune

newspaper Chicago Tribune came to be millions of daily readers in the twenties, so I think a contest to lift "the most beautiful office building in the world." Competition took part more than 260 architects from 35 countries. These architects some as Walter Gropius, Adolf Loos or Saarinen. The project was finally chosen to Hodd and Howells. This project was the Gothic style, which was related to the natural evolution of the Chicago school, which is of great weight to the jury. Hood design Howelsen beat and clean lines proposed by European architects of the Bahuaus. The building was completed in 1925, the building was designed taking into account the tower of the Cathedral of Rouen in France, which makes this building one of the jewels in the revival of Chicago architecture. The sculptures were done by Rene Paul Chambellan. The Adolf Loos draft despite not being elected has passed into architectural history.
